Davenport Racing, known for their innovation with Volkswagens, and composites, will be helping out Paladin Rally in 2006. Paladin Rally will be getting the word out about the quality and value that Davenport Racing can provide for race enthusiasts, Rallycrossers, and Rallyists with any car. If you’re looking to begin your racing effort, or keep to you’re budget, Davenport Racing has quality solutions for you.
Davenport Racing is a racing shop located in Princeton, MN, which specializes in Rally associated work. Doug Davenport's involvement in racing began in 1994. While Autocrossing, he met Mike Hurst who introduced him to the exciting sport of Rallying. Doug began his Rally career as a competitor and has competed in Rallies since 1995. In 1998 he wanted to assist other people with getting into Rallying and opened Davenport Racing. Since then, he has built a number of championship winning Rally cars for himself and for others.
His extensive knowledge of race and Rally preparation has allowed others to enjoy the excitement that comes with Rallying. He has built three Rally cars of his own, one winning the 1999 National Club Rally Championship. He also built a 1987 VW Golf, that Bob Nielsen used to win the 2000 National G2 Championship. JB Niday also has had two VW Golfs built by Doug, one of which was runner up in the 2000 National G2 class.
Davenport Racing has also worked with other cars. Sisu Racing's 1998 Saturn has a cage from Davenport Racing. SMS Rallysport's Dodge Omni has lighting by Davenport Racing as well as custom cage work. In January of 2002, Doug did a complete build up of a 2000 Toyota Celica for Bob Olson to compete in Production class at the National level. It included DMS suspension, custom cage work, underside protection and all the bells and whistles needed for competition. Doug also has provided "On-Event" Services for Bob Olson, Doug & Tyler Dill, and SMS Rallysport.
Davenport Racing also does repair work. Whether it is suspension links on a Mazda RX-7 for Doug Dill, to retainer cups for a Saturn's suspension, to basic car repair and tune-ups Davenport Racing gets it done.
Davenport Racing is always working to bring you the newest and best gear for your race or street car. Our newest products include: carbon fiber hoods, light pods, and under-body pieces for various cars including Subarus, Porsches, and Eclipses. Davenport Racing is also looking into the rental car side of racing. Possibly a two-wheel drive Rally car.
