In the great quest for finding sponsorship, you need to do a lot of research. You might ask yourself "What do I research" and "Why do I need to do lots of it" which are all very important questions.  If someone approached you asking for money you’d want them to have a good reason for doing so.  In the realm of team sponsorships, the same is true.  Any sponsor in their right mind wouldn’t give you sponsorship unless they knew a few things, including what benefits they get for giving you money.  To answer these questions you need to find out all you can about the people watching you compete.

A company needs to know that the money they spend on you will bring costumers around to spend money on them. To see if our fans meet up with who they’re looking for in a customer we need to ask question after question after question.

  • How much money do you make?
  • Where do you live?
  • What are your personal beliefs in this?
  • What are your views of yourself?
  • What do you spend your money on?

If a company is making let’s say, kayaks, they have a certain customer who’s looking to buy their products. Their target customer might be a person, male or female, between 25 and 40, who enjoys the outdoors, and is an adventurous outgoing person. The company would then want to spend its money letting that person know about its products, instead of someone in their 60s, who enjoys reading a book alone.

If we can answer the question of who watches and participates in rally, then we have a good idea of who to approach asking for sponsorship. If their target market matches ours, then they would be much more willing to give us the funds to compete because they would get their message to the people who buy their products.

In our search for information on the rally community, we’ve come up with virtually nothing, so in the great tradition of the sport, we’ve “rally engineered” our own survey. Please take the survey and help us answer the questions we need to know to get the money to compete for you next year.
