Sno* Drift 05 Run Up PDF Print E-mail
Monday, January 31, 2005 - LETS GET IT ON !!!

Part I

We have 3 weeks to go before Sno* Drift. A week after that is Perce Neige. Kylie, pictured above, is, well, incomplete. Dannii hasn't gotten back from the body shop yet. Tension is high in Westmoreland.

With such an ambitious season ahead of us, is possible to succed ? Is Paladin Rally doomed to start late in 2005? Could Matt fail to even make it to even one race? Will Ole Holter have joined a fizzled rally team? Stay Tuned!!

Part II

2 Weeks to go, still no engine sounds in Westmoreland. All our body work is done, most of the glass is in. Dannii is all here, through in pices, except for a delinquint ECU, vacationing in New Zeland. Kylie still needs a driveline from the flywheel back. The parts should be in from Japan soon.

Part III

Less than a week to go. I have 1 ECU in customs in LA, and another coming in from Chaste Motorsports. Dannii is mainly toghter, Kylie's engine posed some peculiar problems, which I had to fix with a grinder. My personal Stress levels are high, but who gives a rats ass about my stress. Let it sno*, let it sno*, let it sno*.

Part IV

After many hard days and late nights, still no running cars. Saying we are cutting it close does not even come close to describeing the reckless procrastination of the Paladin Rally Team. I have no idea how the cars are going to run, or if they will run. Hell, they don't run. It's 10:00 on Sunday, Bret from Rally Grafix is doing up a brand new graphics scheme. Check the gallery for a sneak peak. There is not much to say besides, I'm really looking foward to Sno* Drift. I feel I've come a long way since the begining of last season. With any luck, things will come easy and I won't have to work for the champaign :)

Part V

5:35 With mere hours to go before Sno* Drift, the throaty exhaust note of a Open Class Subaru fills the Paladin Rally's home base with billowing joy. Is that elation or asphyxiation that makes me so light-headed? Who cares! The paper would read, "Iorio and Minogue; Star crossed couple die in loves embrace."

A bit of light packing and we will be ready to roll, uh, compete. I've got to get back to it, but I just felt I would end the story for anyone who has wasted their time following this story unfold.

Part VI

The turbo is making a clacking. We could be up shit creek.

Part VII

Turbo problem intermitent,  A power steering problem kept us up late. I slept in the shop. 3 Power steering pumps later, we still havent figured out the problem.

Part VIII

Well, we are behind schedual, but we got rid of the schedual long ago to save weight in the oberburdened box truck. We appear to have sucessfully swaped steering racks, and the groaning powersteering pump problem seems to have dissapeared. My hopes are up slightly, but I dare not say it aloud. The clicking in the turbo is more likley just the exhaust valves clacking. This is the final chapter to our little mellodrama becuase any furthur problems will develop on the road, and I won't be able to chroniucle them here. With that said, see you in Atlanta!
