I was born July 8, 1981. I grew up In Hingham Massachusetts, before moving to Millis. I am the youngest of five children, five years younger than my closest sibling. My oldest sister A, events horses. Next, Valaura is a NY artist. Finally, my youngest sister Izzy competes polo ponies. Closest to my age, my brother Theo is one of those incredibly naturally athletic people who has beat me in every sport we ever competed in. I went to the Rivers High School, located in the swamps of Weston, MA. After nearly not graduating, I reluctantly went to Oberlin College in Ohio. There I earned a BA in Arts and Sciences in 2003. I majored in Psychology. I studied Psych because it encompasses practically every field; chemistry, biology, mathematics, sociology, bits of modern history, etc. In college I also played a lot of D&D. I'd started playing at age 8, but college brought it to a whole new level. Oberlin actually gave me credit for teaching a class on fantasy world creation. In Millis, there are some very rough horse trails where I grew up riding ATV's. At first I used my Brother in law's Trail Boss 250. My first was a Scrambler 500. In 2000 I bought a Raptor 660. That bike is pretty quick, but recently a series of transmission failures has led me to put a hold on my trail riding. Riding the ATVs taught me the importance of getting home. There's nothing like the thought that no one might find you for hours to make you fight that much harder to stay on the road. In 2001 I traded in my first car, a Subaru Legacy Outback (Pepe) for a WRX. I remember telling the dealer I'd like one of the WRC cars on a poster, he told me you couldn't buy one.
| Subaru was doing the automatic SCCA membership thing, which I didn't actually use until much later, and sending out "Drive" magazine. In a happy coincidence, I happened to see the Maine Forest Rally was coming up. Myself and two friends took my WRX, and a lot of beer up. The WRX was sporting the biggest carbon fiber wing money could buy. I'm not all that proud of the wing, but it did get me chicks. At Maine, Alternative Vehicles flyered my car with a performance parts ad, and to make a long story way shorter, years later Sunshine was finished. At some point in this mess I took one of Tim O'Neil's 4 day classes to prepare for LSPR, which I drove with Ben Bradley. The back end broke traction once in the entire rally, and I almost shat myself. After graduation I put an ad on Ben's Rally Page for a Co-Driver and teammate. Phil was one of the first to reply. He had experience, friends who could crew, and a service truck, and I had a co-driver. Our first Rally was Oregon Trail. I was driving Kylie, but I hadn't learned anything about car maintenance and figured a rally car didn't need any. We arrived at OT with a car not fit for a Rallycross and had to spruce her up in a bank parking lot. If Tech had checked the strut bearings we wouldn't have started. At Maine O3 I DNF'ed on the first stage. Restarting the second day, I wrecked Kylie 3/4 mile in. When my truck broke down on the way up I should have called it quits. Eric Burmiester happened to rescue me from the side of the road, which I'm still grateful for. After Kylie was broken, Phil and I searched the country to a replacement, and ended up at Vermont Sportscar, though we took a detour through Texas. There I found Dannii before Ojibwe. Somehow before Tall Pines 03 I convinced Phil to quit his job so we could Rally full time. Somewhere in 2004, actually LSPR 03, I met Brian who was Servicing for the Legend Himself. By the end of 2004, Phil had rebuilt Dannii and Kylie. He had packed the service rig completely, and was helping the crew as much as he was co-driving. He really had to do one or the other. I once again put an ad on Rally Classified for a Co-Driver. Ole Holter had the right stuff as the saying goes; he was the most qualified of a pool of qualified applicants. Well, that's a pretty dry read, but I'd say you're up to date now. | Ole Holter Co-Driver
Ole started Co-Driving in 1997. In his first two years of co-driving, he became the SCCA ProRally 3rd Place Group Two Co-Driver and the California Rally Series 1st Place Two Wheel Drive Open Class CoDriver. In August of 1999, Ole joined the Matco Tools ProRally team. At their first rally together (Gorman Ridge Clubrally), Mark Brown and Ole finished fifth overall and first in the CRS Performance Stock and National Production Classes. Mark and Ole had a very successful year of racing during 1999: Ole took the SCCA ProRally Southern Pacific Division Production Class Co-Driver Championship and Second Place in the CRS Performance Stock Class Co-Driver Championship. Since 1997 Ole has competed in seventy four different rallies in the US and Canada. He has raced in everything from a Production class Volkswagen Beetle to a full blown Open Class
| Subaru WRX STI with the two time National ProRally overall Champion David Higgins doing the driving. Ole was Born in Portland, Oregon – April 22, 1964., he lived in Oregon till age twelve, lived in Washington till age 22. Met his wife Kathy in 1984 and moved with her to Long Beach, Ca in 1986.
