Wicked Big Meet 2007 PDF Print E-mail
Boxers, hood scoops, and a chairlift...?  Normally the three have nothing in common, but on June 17th they all meant one thing, Subaru.  The Mount Wachusett Ski Area was the location for the second annual Wicked Big Meet car show.  Although mainly a Subaru event, any and all manner of cars were welcome.  There were street, track, and rally cars on display, along with many vendors and there were tech seminars running all day.
The biggest part of the event is the car show show, both in the event, and out in the parking lot.  Inside the show was filled with highly tuned, very impressive examples of street and race cars.  A Nissan Skyline and Lotus Elise were big draws, with people crowded around taking pictures all day.  The SCCA had multiple cars on display, hopeful to lure new competitors into their various race and rally events.
At the back half of the event were the rallycars (maybe the street cars were afraid of them).  Several prominent rally teams were on display including Subaru Rally Team USA, Wazoo/Dunkin Donuts racing, and of course, Paladin girl DPii was on display.  To find Matt, all you had to do was look for the hawiian shirt.  Mr. Iorio was available to talk to fans and answer any questions that they might have.
The other big part of WBM this year were the tech seminars.  Representives from Rallispec, Team O Neil Rally School, and other like companies were setup to give presentations inside the lodge.  Everyone was invited and encouraged to step inside and sit down for some very informative chatter.
Overall it was a great event and hopefully next years is even better!
