There was an overwhelming defeat at Oregon Trail this year as the Paladin Team suffered from the same problem in two consecutive rallies. Head Gasket failure resulted in poor performance at the 100 Acre Wood Rally. A month later the rebuilt motor suffered from the same problem that started to develop at shakedown. Team Manager, Matt Iorio offered his resignation when it became clear he was responsible for the greatest sin in motorsports development. Iorio's position will temporarily be filled by Team Principle, Matt Iorio, until a suitable replacement is found. Despite limping along with air cooled, low compression subaru, the Paladin Team managed to somehow pull off a top five finish. The scramble now begins to get the car ready for Olympus Rally, a task made much more difficult by a lack of money. In other news, the Subaru Factory team swapped Ken Blocks motor after Saturday's stages. Early reports indicate that the engine had a fine layer of dust on it, and they decided that replacing the motor was the safest option. |
