And that they did...
Early on in the super special, Iorio and Holter had what looked to be a average run, but for those of you that know the team, you know that the only thing predictable about Matt is that he is unpredictable - and fearless - Matt came through on the second run into the stadium a little too hard off the entry and the car starting breathing fire, taking on a life of it's own - Matt did not stop driving, despite laying down lots of oil on the course (which, of course helped with the fire breathing!!). The crowd loved it and the team set a respectable time of 2:10.8!!!
Prior to the super special, Co-driver Ole Holter stated "Only Matt knows what he will do, but he is telling us that he wants to do something that has never been done in a rally"...and he was right...while many have taken jumps too fast, none has seen the car seemingly come alive as DPII (the car) did today!!! |
