Pat's GP N car Tech'ed - 2005/10/27 09:32
I just thoulght I'd mention that after LSPR I got to see a full WRC type tech inspection. Pat's car was torn down to check for his Gp N compliance. I heard they went as far as to check rod weight. He spent atleast 4 hours in there.
I didn't hear of anything they found that was not Gp n, and Pat kept his victory, so I'd say the car was legit. It's really tough, and really expensive to keep a car to strict Gp n Spec.
Also, Good job to Rally America for having the brass to tear the car down. It doesn't do the series justice to not tear down the series's winner's car atleast once, especially if it's a N car. I hope the full tear down never becomes necessary at every event, but once, absolutley.
