Re:It's DPii! - 2009/08/02 12:21 This marks the only car to compete in more than 3 X Games (Colin McRae's STI was also driven by Jeff Moyle) and makes Matt the only builder besides VSC to have a car compete in each X Games Rally Car Race.

Re:It's DPii! - 2009/08/14 07:18 I was a great moment in my life to see DPii's run fully televised!! Up to this point she has only been seen in bits short clips at the X games.

I luckily tuned in just in time to see the camera shot of DPii's mirror, and said to my wife, "THAT"S MY CAR!!!" I must have repeatedly said, "I built that car" twenty or more times. Oh, and when she blew past her competitor on that straight section, that was such a moment of beauty.

Re:It's DPii! - 2009/08/15 21:51 Yeah, she looked like the fastest car there outside of the Ford's, which were designed by a team of engineers. Not bad work, unfortunatly they didn't get it set up right to turn on the tarmac.

Another current DPii appearance- look at this month's Grassroots Motorsport. They look back at the 25 top cars they featured in their 25 years. On page 72-

"HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL

April 2007

When Matt Iorio bought a Subaru Impreza WRX in 2001, he couldn't even drive a stick shift. A year later, he was rallying -- and quickly climbed through the ranks. By 2006, he was recognized as one of the scene's best and received and invitation to the X Games. No, he didn't take the big win, but he showed that a privateer with older equipment could finish within sight of the top dogs."

And a future appearance- DPii will return to stage rally after a short absence at next weekend's Ojibwe Forest Rally with Kenny Bartram and Dennis Hotson taking the wheel.
