Re:Sooo...tranny problems? - 2007/06/06 05:37
All the trannys are of unknown ages. I was driving the worste stage of my life, totally out of it, There was a gas spill, and I couldn't get myself to focus. Shifts were botched, missed, and rushed. Finally the shifter linkage let go, and I was left with only fifth. With only 1,2, or 3 I would have continued, but with only such a big gear, I couldn't start the car without totally roasting a new and expensive clutch. Even if I did start, staying infront of MPL (maximum permitted latness) was going to be nearly impossible. So I called it a day.
A new trannsmision possibly could have withstood the abuse of my ham-fisted shifting, but who knows. We carry the part that broke, in out truck (swapping it in the tranny is not quick and easy however) because Otis Dimiters borrows it from us frequently.
