diff mapping... - 2007/11/05 16:11 so...any secrets you can share about your Gems diff controller? I'm looking to get mine set up and don't know where to begin. Are you using provided maps or have you done your own?

Any insight would be cool.

Re:diff mapping... - 2007/11/06 05:28 All of my diff maps were created by Pat Richard. He has some really good ones made, and he can custom tune them as well. I set up the wiring harness, which is easy, like 8 wires, but Pat did all the mapping. You should check out his site, rocketrally.com or patrichard.com

Re:diff mapping... - 2007/11/15 15:36 Thanks for the info matt. The diff manual doesn't have very much info about how to wire it up...did your unit come with detailed wiring instructions?

Re:diff mapping... - 2007/11/15 18:07 Yes, it did. There should only be like 9 input wires. Tee off them, and run them to the appropriate pin on the input connetor. It's weird doing it for the first time, but pretty simple. The output is power to a relay, and from the relay 14 volts to the center diff controler, and the output might even utilize the stock wiring

The biggist problem will be finding the wires to tee off from. If you can't find them, just connect them all to the ground, that's where all the power goes anyway. It's what your mother always said about keeping your peas out of your mash potatoes, they all end up together in your stomach anyway.

The ECU has a crap load of inputs, and a ton of outputs, but a diff contoler is a relativly simple beast comparitivly.
