Anti Lag Question - 2007/11/12 17:36 I've been watching a video of Petter Solberg testing his WRC car on the youtube, and I don't hear much of the tell tale anti lag back firing. Are they running some of other form of anti lag that I don't know about? I'm kind of intrigued by this. It seems like with all the money the manufacturers pour into WRC they would be running an ALS.

Re:Anti Lag Question - 2007/11/13 10:25 I haven't seen the video, but yes, the newest forms of antilag don't pop. They make a steady combustion in the exhaust. I haven't worked with such a system, or seen read any great artciles about them, but am fairly confident that the new system has a dedicated fuel injector, and air flow.

Even at idle such a system can create the kind of gas pressure to give maximum boost. Also, because the combustion happens after the valves, there is no chance of burning them.
