I haven't seen the video, but yes, the newest forms of antilag don't pop. They make a steady combustion in the exhaust. I haven't worked with such a system, or seen read any great artciles about them, but am fairly confident that the new system has a dedicated fuel injector, and air flow.
Even at idle such a system can create the kind of gas pressure to give maximum boost. Also, because the combustion happens after the valves, there is no chance of burning them.
